A subdomain is a web address, that's under a main, or a root domain name. An example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own website and records i.e. aside from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be entirely independent and also hosted by a separate company. Employing a subdomain can be extremely useful if you'd like to have different sites which are connected in some way. For instance, you can have a web-based store under the main domain plus a forum under a subdomain so as to offer means for your customers to ask questions and / or share opinions about your products. The main advantage of employing a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the websites are going to be separated, so that you can update one of them or perform maintenance without affecting the other.

Subdomains in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting packages will allow you to set up countless subdomains for every domain address hosted inside your account without any hassle. As long as the main domain address is added, it requires two clicks to set up a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for effortless access and control. By right-clicking on any of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that particular subdomain. We haven't set a limit for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.
